If he stops and restarts Outlook, it downloads the SAME emails it already downloaded from the server. And in the left column if he clicks the Inbox or Sent Mailbox it does NOT open to show the emails there. Outlook only reads about 3/4 of the new emails (as shown in the lower right border I believe) and then stops reading email. (B) If he does not reboot the computer, then later in the day he opens Outlook again and things are EVEN WORSE.

If he closes Outlook in the normal way by clicking the red x in the upper right corner of the Outlook windows that ALWAYS works with no error. If he waits long enough it may get opened or sent and sometimes even that fails. However if he opens an email or sends an email, sometimes it opens or is sent and sometimes instead he gets a message that Outlook is NOT RESPONDING. He can then open the Inbox, Sent Mailbox and so on and see the emails. Then he waits 30 - 50 minutes (!!) and finally that message disappears.
(A) After rebooting PC, he opens Outlook and gets a pop-up or message saying that the Outlook Personal Data file was not closed properly and must be repaired. 2.66 GHz Dual Core Pentium cpu with 4 GB RAM. The following problems have got worse in the last month which he tells me ONE business contact has sent him emails with large attachments totaling 1 - 2 GB.Ĭustomer Sony laptop specs are Windows Vista Business 64-bit OS with Outlook 2007. I will be leaving for the customer in 6 1/2 hours and would prefer answer before then (by 7:30 AM on July 30 EST) This is for my customer I fix PCs for a living.
